I was born and raised in the cape winelands.

My first degree, completed at the University of Cape Town in 2003, involved exposure to concepts and imagery from classical cultures up to contemporary South African arts. A pull towards the experiential saw me undertaking courses on teaching English to foreign learners. This allowed travel, opportunities to observe early childhood development, and work in educational contexts. The need to return to South Africa to contribute led to my decision to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist. As my formal training at Stellenbosch University progressed, I increasingly felt that I had found a professional home. I graduated from the Psychology Clinical Masters program in 2013.

I have worked, clinically, as part of multidisciplinary teams at community, district, secondary healthcare levels, educational institutions, and most recently in the private sector. I have been exposed to cases complicated by the multiple socioeconomic, political, and health issues replete in our society. The anomalous year of 2020 granted me the opportunity to lecture and conduct psychotherapy online. The experience proved to be challenging at times, extremely thought-provoking, and ultimately enriching.

Since 2021 I have worked exclusively in the private practice, both online and in-person.

In February 2023 I joined the group practice of Bryony Niemann and associates.
